Sustain Recovery is now offering new outpatient services for teen co-occurring mental health and addiction treatment!
While PHP and IOP have been available in an inpatient setting, these same Sustain programs are now available for teens as outpatient services. These programs are unique in the Anaheim region and are geared toward helping adolescents in the Highland North Orange County and Inland Empire areas.
New Outpatient Services
Our new outpatient services allow teenagers to attend the program during the day and return home each night. This specialized level of care serves as a middle ground, with more accessible programming than typical residential care. Some adolescents who are struggling with addiction and other mental health challenges do not require residential treatment. These new programs offer the chance for them to start small and participate in treatment without committing to a residential program.
Teens and families in our outpatient programs have access to an interdisciplinary team, which includes physicians, psychiatrists, LMFT therapists, CADCA recovery counselors, and program staff. This team offers multiple types of treatment, including:
- Individual and group counseling
- Motivational interviewing
- Enhancement and engagement strategies
- Family therapy
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
- Adventure therapy
- Art therapy
- Equine therapy
- Co-dependency group
- Trauma-informed therapy
The process of recovery is a journey, and our hope is we can be a safe place for teens to develop new skills to make changes in their lives that help them to heal. These outpatient programs offer the opportunity for teens to not only learn new skills but also practice these skills at home. Additionally, these programs will address underlying issues related to a teen’s addiction, such as mental health disorders and trauma. In an outpatient setting, individuals can practice the healthy coping skills they learn with us at home and in their lives while receiving the intensive care they need.
Outpatient Program Schedules
We create a well-rounded treatment experience for teens that include physical health, education, and different types of therapy and group activities. For many families seeking help for their teens, figuring out the logistics of education can be a source of stress. That is why school support is incorporated into our outpatient services. At Sustain, we believe teens shouldn’t have their education disrupted in order to receive mental health treatment. Therefore, we have structured our PHP program to run from 8 AM to 3:30 PM, with educational sessions offered from 8 AM to 10 AM, while the remainder of the day is focused on addiction and mental health treatment.
Our IOP program is designed for teenagers who wish to continue their current schooling. It operates from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and is similar to an after-school program. This program will be comprised of mental health and addiction treatment, both individually and in group settings.
Getting Connected With Outpatient Services at Sustain Recovery
When you are trying to evaluate the most useful kind of addiction and mental health treatment for a teenager, you may not be sure just what will work best. However, the staff at Sustain Recovery can help. Connecting with Sustain Recovery about our new outpatient services is an easy way to learn more. These new teen programs are ideal environments for adolescents to begin treatment and have also been shown to be an effective component of a continuum of care. However, if a teen enters one of our outpatient programs, and it is determined that it is not the right fit, they can always transition into a different Sustain program, with more (or less) support, as needed.
Due to high demand, Sustain Recovery is excited to announce that we are now offering independent outpatient services. Therefore, teens from the community or other treatment centers can enter these programs to get the support they need. Day treatment for teens can be a great place to start healing or can serve as a way for teens to transition home after attending treatment in other locations. If you are unsure if this is the right treatment for your teen, we can help. Contact Sustain Recovery at (949) 407-9052 today. We are offering a free assessment so that you can see if this level of care is the right fit at this time.
